About coaching
Personal and professional demands have increased over the last ten years. Individuals and business owners face new challenges such as career transition, work life imbalance, and the need to enhance life skills and business competencies. Organizations and government entities are encountering a decrease in the workforce that has increased the need for training and employee coaching to maintain an optimal level of service. Of the 25 million people projected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to have left the labor force between 1998 and 2008, 22 million were age 45 or older and thus left mostly to retire. Professional coaching , training, and wellness programming can help in all these instances.
There is a growing need for programs that support individuals, groups, and businesses as they work through major societal changes. Services may include executive coaching, wellness coaching, and programs and courses that focus on teaching critical interpersonal skills, wellness techniques, and leadership abilities that alter personal behaviors. Internal shifts create external results.
BodyLife Dynamics offers solutions that are convenient and cost effective. Coaching is offered by telephone and our training programs are delivered either through in-person or e-Learning methods. To reduce costs even further, all of our programs are available for licensing.
Why coaching?
"A survey of more than 300 companies nationwide found that companies are focusing on developing the leadership abilities of managers, executives, and employees internally through coaching and mentoring programs." Modis Professional Services Survey, 2000
According to a 2001 Attitudes in the American Workplace survey, "35% of workers say their jobs harm their physical or emotional health. 42% say job pressures interfere with their personal relationships. Half say they have a more demanding workload this year than last." How can we afford to do without corporate wellness?
"Measures of life quality are related to whether individuals are working their desired number of hours. People who want to work fewer hours often experience more work/life conflict, more stress, more overload, and less coping/mastery." P. Moen and Y.Yu, "Effective Work/Life Strategies: Working Couples, Work Conditions, Gender and Life Quality." Social Problems, 2000.
In its survey Training and Development 2005, 88% of respondents say they now use coaching in the workplace.
Coaching, training, and wellness services are provided to individuals and organizations that are committed to human development. In this context, Monique defines human development as:
"...developing a multitude of inner skills and physical self-command that help you to master everyday life. Inner and outer strength equates to body and life mastery. I believe that individuals and corporations who are committed to this process are more effective, successful, and deliver a higher quality of service."
How coaching can help you
BodyLife Dynamics means solutions. Our approach, unique to the coaching industry, is a philosophy based on the Seven Dimensions of Wellness. This model is used as an integrative tool to refocus a client's energy during demanding times or crisis. With a unique blend of coaching, training, and wellness clients are taught a balance that helps them respond to challenges, rather than to react in unhealthy ways that will affect their work and personal life.
In addition to facilitating behavioral shifts, we assist our clients with processes, procedures, business structure, and business planning. Fieldwork between sessions enhances the momentum.
Clients dramatically improve their job performance as they learn valuable soft skills. "Soft skills are the nontechnical skills, abilities, and traits that workers need to function in a specific employment environment. They include four sets of workplace competencies: problem-solving and other cognitive skills, oral communication skills, personal qualities and work ethic, and interpersonal and teamwork skills" (Leigh, et al., 1999). As they learn to set boundaries, voice their needs, and focus on health and wellness - their personal life also improves. Ultimately, soft skills deliver hard benefits.
"When you understand how you react to challenges," says Monique, "and that there
are choices in times of chaos, you automatically become more effective at home,
in the workplace, and in the community."
